HOW TO BECOME A COACH.

THE PROCESS.
At D&S Hastings Youth F.C we will pay for you to become a qualified coach and we will supply you with your coaches kit and all your football equipment that you will need.
This is free to you as long as you Coach with us for a minimum of 3 seasons.
We will start you on your level 1 and we can train you all the way to be an academy level coach.
Our aim is to put you on a training course each season.
We like to invest in all our coaches enabling us to have the most qualified coaches around Sussex which the players of all ages will benefit.
The first thing you need to have is a DBS (Police Check) certificate which we will apply for on your behalf.
We normally get these back with in a week or so.
Once this has been sent back you and us and it comes back with nothing on it then we will move you to the next process.
You will then need to complete the F.A. play-maker course.
The play-maker course is a fantastic course full of lots of great information and this can be done online.
You will then also need to do a children safeguarding course and this is around 2 hours.
The course is designed to give you an understanding of safeguarding concerns, as well as how to provide a secure environment for young people.
There is also a first Aid course that can be done online.
All of the above can be pretty much done in 1 sitting as long as the DBS comes back clean and that we get the booking confirmed for the Play-maker course which can take some time to get you on this.
We have had coaches join us and have completed all within a month.
In the mean time you can shadow a coach and make a start training with your potential team whilst waiting for the above (as long as DBS is ok).
